Minister Krishnendu Paul Reviews Departmental Progress in Bongaigaon

In a significant move, Assam Government's Minister for Public Works (Roads), Animal Husbandry and Veterinary, and Fisheries, Shri Krishnendu Paul, arrived in Bongaigaon district today and chaired a review meeting with departmental officials at the District Commissioner's office auditorium.

The meeting saw the presence of key officials, including the Director of the Animal Husbandry Department, Additional District Commissioner Gitashree Lachit, Assistant Commissioner Antu Bordoloi, Senior Planning Officer Pradip Das, Superintendent Engineer of PWD (Roads) Mukul Kakati, Bongaigaon District Animal Husbandry Officer Shahidul Islam, and District Fisheries Development Officer Baban Kalita, among others.

Review of Key Schemes:

  • PWD (Roads): Minister Paul took stock of the roads constructed in the Bongaigaon district under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY), inquiring about their status and progress from the PWD officials.

  • Animal Husbandry: The Minister reviewed ongoing schemes, particularly the National Gokul Mission related to Artificial Insemination (AI) of livestock. He also reviewed the progress of various animal disease control and vaccination programs, and inquired about the functioning of the Mobile Veterinary Units in the district.

  • Fisheries Department: Shri Paul took briefings from the District Fisheries Development Officer regarding Central and State Government schemes under the Fisheries Department. He specifically reviewed the operation of the four completed fish feed production mills in the district. He also instrTheucted the Fisheries Development Officer to expedite the construction of the high-production fish feed mill currently being built in Garaimari.

The Minister's review meeting is expected to bring greater dynamism and accelerate the implementation of projects across these three crucial departments in the district.
